Introduction

Winnow, LLC, doing business as DanceFinder, a Wisconsin limited liability company, operates the DanceFinder mobile application and the website at dancefinder.net (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our Service.

DanceFinder is an information guide that helps dance families discover and compare dance intensives, camps, workshops, and competitions across the United States.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Email address (for authentication and account recovery)
• Password (stored as a cryptographic hash; we never store plaintext passwords)
• Display name (optional)
• Age bracket (under 13, 13-17, or 18+) — we do NOT store your exact date of birth
• Parent/guardian email (for users ages 13-17, for consent verification)
• Saved programs list and filter preferences

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data (aggregated, not linked to your identity): pages viewed, features used, search queries
• Device type and OS version (for crash diagnostics only)
• GPS coordinates (only when “Near Me” is enabled; not stored on our servers)

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect: photos, phone numbers, physical addresses, payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, school data, health data, contacts, browsing history outside the app, social media accounts, biometric data, or precise location history. We do not access your IDFA or use device fingerprinting.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Service
• Authenticate your identity
• Enable saved programs and reminders
• Improve the Service (aggregated analytics)
• Manage your subscription
• Comply with legal obligations

We do NOT use your information to:

• Build behavioral advertising profiles
• Sell your personal information
• Track you across apps or websites
• Display advertisements of any kind

3. How We Share Your Information

We use the following service providers: Supabase (database and authentication), Apple (Sign In and subscriptions), PostHog (aggregated analytics), and Sentry (crash reporting). All are bound by data processing agreements.

DanceFinder does not sell your personal information.

4. Children's Privacy

• Under 13: Blocked from creating an account.
• Ages 13-17: Require verified parental consent before account creation. No advertising, no profiling, no data shared for marketing.
• Parents may review, correct, or delete their child's data at any time by contacting privacy@dancefinder.net.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Account data is retained until you delete your account. Aggregated analytics are retained for 90 days then permanently anonymized. Parental consent records are retained for 3 years after account deletion. You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting privacy@dancefinder.net.

6. Data Security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are cryptographically hashed. Row-Level Security policies restrict database access. Data is stored on servers in the United States.

7. Your Rights

All users may access, correct, delete, or withdraw consent for their data. California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA. Texas residents have rights under TDPSA. Contact privacy@dancefinder.net to exercise your rights.

8. No Advertising

DanceFinder is an ad-free, subscription-supported service. We do not display ads, access IDFA, share data with advertisers, or create profiles for advertising.

9. Third-Party Links

DanceFinder contains links to program provider websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will notify subscribers of material changes by email and update the “Last Updated” date above.
